Mr. Hafid El Hachimi is a native of Morocco with a diverse multidisciplinary academic and professional background. An expert in building and managing strategic alliances and networks with 10+ years of hands-on experience in international affairs, conflict analysis, and human rights advocacy and monitoring. He spent several years working with international organizations, including the UN and the OIC. Most recently, Mr. El Hachimi worked as a senior human rights officer at the OIC Human Rights Commission, where he was responsible for Research, Policy, and Planning, with a particular focus on the human rights situation in Occupied Palestine, including Jerusalem.

He is currently a PhD candidate at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA), Carleton University in Ottawa. He holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s in economics from Fez University in Morocco. His Scholarly interests focus on conflict analysis, geopolitics of the Middle East, populism, and democracy backsliding.
